Blog time 1735 sitting in office

Breakfast Club Wednesday;  up at 0515 and get ready.  The temperature when I left this morning was higher in GR than either LA or San Jose.  This is our last day of above average temps.  The high today will be 60.  Tomorrow is the first of March and the weather folks say it will come in like a lion.  Rain/snow mix predicted.

A Navy friend of mine was born on February 29, 1940.  He said that his family celebrated his birthday on the 28th except for leap year.  Happy Birthday Mike Ruggles wherever you are.

The speaker today at BC was Wyman Britt.  Mr Britt is the new Kent County administrator.  Most folks remember him as the Captain of the UM BB team that played Indiana for the NCAA title in 1976.  He talked about his upbringing and work history in Kent County.  Kent County is considered well run.  It has a AAA bond rating.  Today’s BC was poorly attended.

After BC headed straight home.  Changed clothes, got on winter bike and headed to Panera.  Finished yesterday’s blog and read some news.  Called Nancy about 1030 and asked if she could drive me to Ada Bike so I can pick up my summer bike.  She said yes.

At home I took the Taurus to D&W’s gas station to fill it up.  Nancy puts about 60 miles a week on the Taurus.

Nancy drove me to Ada.  Pedaled the bike backed home, a distance of 5 miles.

Nancy worked at the Gardens this afternoon.  She said they were busy.  The Butterflies are in full bloom and folks comes from all over the Midwest to see the butterfly exhibit.

Busy afternoon, two loads of laundry, put out corn and then the trash.  Took a nap and for the first time in ages Ms P and I went on our nature walk, perfect day for a walk.  With the ice off the ponds the geese are back.

It appears college age Republicans believe global warming is real.  They back a carbon tax as proposed by two senior Republicans George Shultz and Jim Baker.  I think their proposed Carbon Plan is great.  I don’t think the GOP can continue to call global warming a hoax.

We had a light dinner. After our standard early routine we switched to Acorn TV.  We watched an episode of a Dr Finlay.  The story is filmed on a Scottish island and is the story of a doctor returning to this small town after serving in WW II.  The cinematography is poor.  It looks like it was filmed in 1946.  We will give it one more chance to win us over.
