Blog time 1150 at Panera

We overslept this morning until 0700.  Nancy hustled to get to MVP to get her swim in.  After breakfast I headed out, it was 0830 and the temp was in low 60s heading to 81.  Probably last 80 degree day of the year. This is a Bob prediction.

Calisthenics and short run/walk at Y.  The Kraft/28th St intersection is still closed to bikers so I took a 0.5 mile detour.

The Las Vegas shooting totally dominated the London papers.  Although I did see one snake story and another article on the First Lady wearing sky-high stilettos.  The political nastiness between the Torries and Labor in the UK might be greater than the GOP and DEMS in the USA.

An article in ENR reported on the Illinois Supreme Court blocking a billion dollar power transmission line.  The line was to carry power from wind farms in Iowa to Indiana and Ohio.  How is renewable energy going to work if it cannot get to market?

China, the 500# gorilla in the room, is driving the switch to electric cars.  China’s power brokers are discouraging internal combustion engines because of major air pollution problems.  Huge incentives are being offered for purchase of electric cars.  The US companies are getting on the bandwagon.  China is the world’s largest car market.

Finally it appears that Japan’s economy is gaining momentum.  Japan is the world’s third largest economy.

I still don’t understand Bit Coins but I guess Goldman Sachs might get in the market.

A lot of folks are speculating on what the new tax plan will look like.  For every idea there is an opponent.  It gets confusing.  Why not eliminate income tax and just go to a sales tax?

It was 80 when I left Panera. Nancy has a 1400 Doctor’s appointment in fact she was leaving when I got home.  Took a walk around the block before lunch.  The GRP arrived early so I made a quick read.  After Nancy got home I took her car to get it filled up.  Gas was $2.50 per gallon.  Also stopped at “Sam the Shoe Man” to get a repair done on my favorite walking shoes.

Nancy is fixing pork chops with apples over rice.  The pork chops and apples were cooked in the crock pot.

Today we will watch NCIS and Bull before turning in.  Finally we will get some rain tonight.
