Blog time 1150 at Panera

With no early morning sun to wake us I think we will have to start using the alarm.  I slept until 0700.  Temp was in high 40s this morning but is now at 1150, 70.  Warm weather continues through Sunday.

I opened the downstairs blinds this morning and interrupted a deer feeding at the mineral block I set out last week.  The block is set about 20 feet from the slider.

It is Nancy’s swim day so she headed right out for MVP.  She has to get to the pool early in order to get a lane.  I left at 0830 for my bike ride to the Y.

The devastation from Irma in Fl is terrible.  Some folks will be without power for weeks.  It was bad in FL but several Caribbean Islands hit by the storm are totally destroyed.

Since Amazon acquired Whole Foods and slashed prices the customer count jumped 25%.  The power of low prices.

The U.K seems confused about how to proceed with BRexit.  Is there an undercurrent of support for another vote?  The London paper said ex PM Blair is looking to establish a new political party.

POTUS is pushing his tax reform package but has not outlined any specifics.  Has he burned his bridges with the GOP leadership?

September is suppose to be a bad month for the stock market.  So yesterday the market went up and today it is up +56 points.  Who knows?

Tonight the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit opens.  It will be the home of both the Pistons and Red Wings.  I first saw a Red Wing game at the old Olympia Arena on Grand River in 1957.  This was the home to all those great Red Wing teams of the 50s.  Remember the Production Line of Abel, Lindsay and Howe?  I also have seen games at the old Joe Lewis Arena in downtown Detroit.

Light dinner, followed by the dishes and then I started on a walk around the block.  The first thing I noted were two deer directly across from the condo.  The deer were feeding on apples. Our neighborhood has many abandoned apple trees and they are a good source for food.  Halfway through the walk encountered several turkeys feeding alongside the road.  Great walk.

Last night we watched a show on Martin Luther on PBS.  It was very interesting.
